Tue Apr 08 14:14:44 UTC 2025: ## Kozhikode Corporation Approves ₹246.60 Crore Annual Project Plan

**Kozhikode, April 8, 2025** – The Kozhikode Corporation Council has approved its annual project plan for 2025-26, totaling ₹246.60 crore. The plan prioritizes sanitation, hygiene, and water conservation with the highest allocation of ₹47.22 crore. Significant funds are also earmarked for housing (₹25.92 crore), women-centric projects (₹11.43 crore), and the manufacturing sector (₹10.36 crore). An equal amount of ₹5.71 crore is allocated to projects benefiting children, the differently abled, and transgender individuals, as well as the elderly. Deputy Mayor C.P. Musafir Ahamed stated that additional projects and carry-overs from the previous year will be incorporated later.

The council also approved a new contract with Nasit Infra Projects Ltd. for the networking work of the West Hill sewage treatment plant (STP), a 13 MLD plant sanctioned under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme for ₹113.16 crore. This follows the merger of previously separate STP projects at Avikkal Thodu and Kothi. The company will receive a new Letter of Acceptance, and the Corporation will address pending bills and the GST increase from 12% to 18% since the project’s inception three years ago. The Corporation will request a GST waiver from the State government to cover the increased costs. Networking work will commence once STP construction begins.
