**Chennai, India** – Punjab Kings opener Priyansh Arya created history on Tuesday, smashing the fastest century by an uncapped player in IPL 2025 against Chennai Super Kings. The 24-year-old blazed to 103 runs off just 42 balls, including seven fours and nine sixes. His whirlwind innings saw him reach the milestone in a mere 39 balls, surpassing the previous record for uncapped players.

Arya’s feat places him as the second-fastest Indian to score an IPL century and jointly fourth overall in the league’s history. He has now overtaken Will Jacks and Adam Gilchrist in the rankings.

The record for the fastest IPL century remains with Chris Gayle, who achieved the feat in 30 balls for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in 2013. Yusuf Pathan (37 balls) and David Miller (38 balls) are also ahead of Arya on the all-time list. Travis Head also scored a century in 39 balls in IPL 2024. Will Jacks and Adam Gilchrist previously held spots ahead of Arya, having scored their centuries in 41 and 42 balls respectively.
