GUNTUR, April 8, 2025 – The Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) is offering a 5% rebate on property tax for the 2025-26 financial year to property owners who pay their full dues, including both half-yearly installments, by April 30. Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu announced the initiative and urged revenue officials to raise public awareness.
At a meeting with municipal staff, Mr. Srinivasulu highlighted the importance of informing eligible property owners about the rebate. He commended the revenue department for exceeding property tax collection targets in 2024-25, attributing the success to a previous state government initiative offering a 50% rebate on outstanding dues. The department collected ₹30 crore more than expected.
To ensure efficient tax collection, the Commissioner mandated daily inspections of properties, vacant land, water connections, and meters. He warned of strict action against staff failing to meet these targets and complete ongoing surveys on time.
