**Bengaluru, April 8, 2025** – Subramanyapura police arrested a former convict, Sridhar T.S., on March 23 for allegedly burglarizing a house in AGS Layout, Uttarahalli. The theft, which occurred while the residents were away at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, resulted in the loss of 387 grams of gold, 100 grams of silver coins, and ₹50,000 in cash.
Sridhar, from Hesaraghatta, was apprehended near Doddabidarakallu. He reportedly confessed to the crime, implicating an accomplice he met while incarcerated at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. Both men were recently released from prison, in the first week of February.
Police recovered 202.9 grams of the stolen gold (valued at ₹16 lakh) from a non-banking financial company where Sridhar had pledged it. The investigation continues, with authorities searching for the second suspect who is believed to possess the remaining stolen items.
