**Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, April 8, 2025** – The Krishnagiri district administration has issued a mandate requiring all establishments, including shops, eateries, industries, and educational institutions, to display name boards in Tamil by May 15, 2025.

The order, based on existing state laws including the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Act, 1947, the Tamil Nadu Catering Establishment Act, 1958, and the Indian Factories Act, 1948, requires Tamil to be prominently featured, followed by English. Additional languages may be included after the English translation.

Collector C. Dinesh Kumar chaired a district-level consultation to ensure smooth implementation across various sectors. A district-level committee, comprised of representatives from all relevant departments, has been formed to oversee the enforcement of this government order. The initiative aims to promote the Tamil language within the district.
