Tue Apr 08 02:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Alabama’s American Idol Hopefuls Face Elimination in Hollywood

**BIRMINGHAM, AL —** The Hollywood round of American Idol continued its brutal culling of contestants on Sunday, April 6th, 2025, leaving the fate of several Alabama singers hanging in the balance. While some Alabamians were highlighted in previous rounds, this episode saw a shift in focus, leaving many viewers uncertain of their status.

Isaiah Moore of Oneonta, a 22-year-old worship leader, was among a group of eight eliminated from the competition, although he expressed gratitude for his experience on social media. His wife, Abby Grace Moore, shared her support, emphasizing his faith and future prospects.

Another Alabama contestant, Crews Wright of Samson, a 17-year-old country singer, made it through to the next round. His continued presence in the competition is a beacon of hope for Alabama Idol fans.

Several other Alabamians—Janae Patterson of Birmingham, Tyler Nichols of Pell City, Anna McElroy of Mobile and Dawson Slade of Moulton—had previously advanced to Hollywood, but their current status remains unclear due to the show’s editing. The episode focused primarily on the high-stakes eliminations and the introduction of a new duet challenge, adding a layer of suspense.

Sixty-two contestants faced the judges’ decision, with eight receiving immediate elimination. Four were given a dramatic “fake-out” before being named among the Top 24, while another eight, including Moore, received the news of their elimination.

The remaining contestants face a head-to-head duet challenge, the results of which will determine the final 20 competitors for the Top 24. The outcome of this challenge remains to be seen, but Crews Wright remains a strong contender, representing Alabama’s hopes in the competition. The show airs on ABC at 7 p.m.
