Tue Apr 08 13:13:30 UTC 2025: ## AIADMK MLAs Stage Walkout from Tamil Nadu Assembly

**Chennai, April 8, 2025** – AIADMK MLAs staged a walkout from the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Tuesday after their request to address the House was denied by the Speaker. The walkout occurred following a debate where Ministers K.R. Periakaruppan and R. Sakkarapani delivered their responses.

The incident began after AIADMK legislator K. Ashok Kumar’s speech. Deputy floor leader R.B. Udhayakumar then requested the opportunity for his party members to respond to the Ministers’ statements. Despite repeated requests, the Speaker insisted that the AIADMK would be given a chance to speak only after the Ministers concluded their replies.

Following intervention from the Leader of the House, Duraimurugan, former Ministers Sellur K. Raju and R. Kamaraj were briefly allowed to speak. However, Mr. Udhayakumar’s insistence on a fuller response was not met, leading to the AIADMK MLAs’ walkout in protest. The AIADMK members were absent when the Ministers gave their replies.
