**New Delhi, April 8, 2025** – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leveled accusations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, claiming the BJP is facilitating the settlement of Rohingya refugees in Delhi. The AAP’s allegations stem from the admission of 19 Rohingya refugee children into Delhi government schools.
AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha held a press conference, asserting that the BJP’s actions contradict their previous campaign promises regarding Rohingya refugees. He accused the BJP of misleading Delhi residents to gain votes.
However, the BJP refuted the accusations, stating that the school admissions were made in accordance with a February 2025 Supreme Court order, predating the current controversy. Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor dismissed the AAP’s claims as “false political statements” designed to mislead the public.
The Rohingya children began attending classes on Friday following the Supreme Court’s directive. The ongoing dispute highlights the politically charged nature of the Rohingya refugee issue in India.
