Tue Apr 08 05:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Chargers Eye Impact Player in 2025 NFL Draft; Hold 10 Total Picks
**Green Bay, WI** – The Los Angeles Chargers are gearing up for the 2025 NFL Draft, set for April 24-26 in Green Bay. Holding the 22nd overall pick, the team is in a prime position to select a significant contributor, according to General Manager Joe Hortiz.
The Chargers’ 22nd pick carries historical significance; the team has previously selected three impactful defensive backs at this position: Mike Williams, Gill Byrd, and Darrien Gordon. However, this year’s draft presents a variety of options.
Analysts predict the Chargers may target an offensive weapon, such as Michigan tight end Colston Loveland, or another wide receiver to bolster their offense. ESPN analyst Mike Tannenbaum suggests the health of wide receiver Mike Williams could influence this decision. However, the possibility of adding a defensive player, such as an edge rusher, also remains.
“There’s so many good players there. We feel like at 22 where we’re picking, there’s going to be a really good player there for us,” said Head Coach Jim Harbaugh.
Adding to their draft capital, the Chargers possess ten total picks, including three compensatory selections. This is an increase from last year’s draft. Their strong 2024 draft class serves as a testament to their scouting prowess, with rookies Joe Alt, Ladd McConkey, Tarheeb Still, and Cam Hart making immediate impacts.
The 2025 NFL Draft will be broadcast on NFL Network, NFL+, ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN Deportes. The first round begins Thursday, April 24th at 5 p.m. PT.
