**KOCHI, April 7, 2025** – Two police officials in Ernakulam Rural Police, Kerala, have been suspended pending investigations into separate incidents of alleged misconduct.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Saleem, attached to the District Special Branch, faces suspension for allegedly misusing his Police Canteen card. The card provides access to discounted goods, and Saleem is accused of giving it to an individual linked to the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).
Separately, a senior civil police officer, identified as Sharnas, from the Perumbavoor ASP office, was suspended for allegedly using his superior’s official email account without authorization. The email was reportedly used to request the unfreezing of a bank account. Investigations into both cases are underway.
