BOSTON, MA – Due to inclement weather, Saturday’s Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals game at Fenway Park has been postponed. The teams will now play a doubleheader on Sunday, with first pitch scheduled for 1:35 p.m. ET and the second game at 7:10 p.m. ET. NESN will provide coverage of the first game.
The postponement comes after Friday’s thrilling 13-9 Red Sox victory, their home opener. Saturday’s game was to feature several lineup changes for Boston, including Kristian Campbell’s major league debut at center field. Manager Alex Cora also planned to have Jarren Duran in left field and David Hamilton at second base. Connor Wong was slated to return behind the plate for pitcher Richard Fitts. The Cardinals were to counter with Andre Pallante on the mound and Pedro Pagés catching.
