Mon Apr 07 06:32:27 UTC 2025: **Rahul Gandhi Joins Bihar Congress’s ‘Stop Migration, Give Jobs’ March**

PATNA, Bihar — Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, joined the party’s “Palayan Roko, Naukri Do” (Stop Migration, Give Jobs) padyatra in Begusarai, Bihar on April 7, 2025. The march, which aims to highlight the lack of employment opportunities for Bihar’s youth, began last month in East Champaran.

Gandhi, dressed in a white T-shirt, participated in the Begusarai leg of the padyatra alongside several party leaders including Kanhaiya Kumar and Bihar Congress President Rajesh Kumar. Thousands of Congress workers and members of its youth and student wings also participated, carrying placards demanding immediate filling of vacancies in the defense forces.

Earlier that day, Gandhi arrived in Begusarai from Patna, where he was greeted at the airport by party officials. He is scheduled to address a “Save the Constitution Symposium” in Patna later, followed by a meeting with party workers at the Bihar Congress office.

This marks Gandhi’s third visit to Bihar since January, where he has urged party workers to defeat the BJP in the upcoming state assembly elections. In a recent video message, he called on Bihar’s youth to join the padyatra. The march, he stated, aims to pressure the state government into addressing youth unemployment and the negative impacts of privatization.

The padyatra has gained significant attention, particularly due to the participation of Kanhaiya Kumar, former JNU student union president and former Lok Sabha candidate, whose home district is Begusarai. The upcoming Bihar assembly elections will see a contest between the Mahagathbandhan alliance (RJD, Congress, Left) and the ruling NDA (Nitish Kumar-led, including BJP).
