**Mangaluru, April 7, 2025** – Over 30,000 students from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts are set to take the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) on April 16 and 17. Authorities held a meeting Monday to finalize preparations for the exam, which will be held across 66 centers in the two districts.
Dakshina Kannada will host the majority of the test takers, with 22,525 students scheduled to write the exam at 43 centers. Udupi district will accommodate 8,089 students across 23 centers. Officials confirmed that Bengaluru Urban district has the highest number of applicants statewide. A further 555 students will take the Kannada language exam for ‘Gadinadu Kannadiga’ reservation.
Robust security measures are in place. Authorities plan to issue orders prohibiting groups of people within 200 meters of exam centers. CCTV cameras will be installed at all centers, and proceedings will be webcast. The Udupi Deputy Commissioner, K. Vidyakumari, directed that question papers be stored securely in the district treasury under police guard, with additional CCTV surveillance. Power outages will be prevented during the exam period, and transportation arrangements are being coordinated to ensure student access to testing locations. Students are advised to arrive one hour early and are prohibited from carrying electronic devices. They must bring a valid photo ID along with their hall ticket. The meeting also addressed the provision of essential amenities, such as drinking water, at all exam centers.
