**Khargone, Madhya Pradesh:** A thief who stole Rs 2.45 lakh from a shop in Khargone district left behind a letter apologizing for the crime and promising to repay the money. The theft occurred at Jujar Ali Bohra’s shop in Jamidar Mohalla between Sunday and Monday.

According to Kotwali police station assistant sub-inspector Arshad Khan, the thief, who claims to be a neighbor, left a typed letter explaining his actions. He stated that he was heavily in debt and constantly harassed by creditors, leaving him with no other option but to steal. He claimed to have only taken what he needed, leaving Rs 38,000 of the original Rs 2.84 lakh untouched. The letter, addressed to the shop owner as “Jujar Bhai,” expresses remorse for the theft, which occurred on Ram Navami, and promises to return the full amount within six months. The thief even suggested the shop owner could hand him over to the police after the repayment.
