**New Delhi, India –** Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, will undertake a two-day official visit to India starting Tuesday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced. This marks his first official trip to India in his current capacity.
The visit, at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will include meetings with high-ranking Indian officials. Sheikh Hamdan will participate in a working lunch hosted by Prime Minister Modi, and hold separate meetings with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. He will also be accompanied by a large delegation of ministers, government officials, and business leaders.
Following his engagements in Delhi, the Crown Prince will travel to Mumbai for a business roundtable with prominent Indian and Emirati business figures, aiming to further bolster economic and commercial ties between the two nations.
The MEA highlighted the significance of Dubai’s role in India-UAE relations, noting the substantial Indian diaspora residing and working in the city. The visit is expected to solidify the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and strengthen multifaceted ties with Dubai. The invitation for this visit was extended by EAM Jaishankar during his trip to the UAE in January. The visit follows a previous meeting between EAM Jaishankar and the Crown Prince, described as a “warm conversation” focused on strengthening the already strong friendship between the two countries.
