Sun Apr 06 23:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Red Sox-Cardinals Game Postponed Due to Rain, Doubleheader Scheduled for Sunday

**BOSTON (AP)** — Saturday’s highly anticipated matchup between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals was rained out after a two-hour and eight-minute delay. With the tarp stubbornly in place throughout the pre-game period, and a forecast predicting continued rain overnight, officials made the call to postpone the contest.

The game will now be played as part of a doubleheader on Sunday. The makeup game will begin at 1:30 p.m., preceding the regularly scheduled game at 7:10 p.m. The Red Sox will be hoping to continue their winning streak after Friday’s 13-9 home opener victory, a game which also saw the team honor members of their 1975 AL championship team.

Earlier in the day, four hours before the scheduled start time, the Red Sox held a press conference featuring rookie Kristian Campbell, who signed a lucrative eight-year, $60 million contract earlier this week.
