**Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu, April 7, 2025** – A 56-year-old man, Palanisamy, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Sivaganga court for sexually assaulting a minor girl and impregnating her. The court found him guilty under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following a case registered at the Karaikudi All Women Police Station. Judge Gokul Murugan ordered the state government to provide 5 lakh rupees in compensation to the victim’s family. The assault occurred while Palanisamy was at work.
