**TIRUNELVELI, April 6, 2025** – Recent rainfall in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu has resulted in moderate increases in water levels at Papanasam and Manimuthar dams, according to the latest reports.
As of Sunday morning, the Papanasam dam registered a water level of 88.45 feet (out of a maximum 143 feet), with an inflow of 380.53 cusecs and an outflow of 300 cusecs. The Manimuthar dam stood at 84.76 feet (out of a maximum 118 feet), with an inflow of 279 cusecs and no outflow.
Rainfall in the 24 hours prior to Sunday morning was recorded as follows: Ambasamudram (13.40 mm), Kannadian Anicut (6.80 mm), and Moolakaraipatti (8 mm). While the rainfall has boosted dam levels, they remain significantly below their maximum capacities.
