**KYIV, April 6, 2025** – A fresh wave of Russian air attacks on southern Ukraine has left three women injured and caused multiple fires in Mykolaiv, Ukrainian officials reported. The attacks, which followed deadly strikes on Kryvyi Rih the previous day, damaged several homes, according to Mykolaiv Governor Vitaly Kim’s Telegram post. One woman required hospitalization, while two others received outpatient treatment. The State Emergency Service released images and videos showing firefighters battling the resulting blazes.
Saturday’s assault comes just one day after at least 19 people, including nine children, were killed in strikes on Kryvyi Rih. Russia has yet to comment on the latest attacks. Both sides continue to deny targeting civilians, despite the thousands of civilian casualties sustained throughout the three-year conflict which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Amidst the ongoing violence, U.S. President Donald Trump, who entered office in January with a promise to end the war within 24 hours, continues to pursue a negotiated settlement. Last month, the U.S. announced that it had brokered two ceasefire agreements between Russia and Ukraine, including one focused on halting attacks on energy infrastructure.
