Sun Apr 06 03:10:00 UTC 2025: **Telugu States Celebrate Sri Rama Navami with Grandeur**
HYDERABAD, Andhra Pradesh (vkABN) – Sri Rama Navami, the Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Rama, was observed with great fervor across the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on April 6, 2025. Temples were adorned beautifully, and special pujas were performed by Vedic Brahmins. Large crowds of devotees thronged temples to witness the celestial wedding ceremony of Lord Rama and Sita.
The celebrations were particularly vibrant in Hyderabad, with the Sitaramabhag temple witnessing an overwhelming turnout of devotees eager to witness the Kalyanam (wedding). Similar scenes unfolded in other major cities and towns. In Nellore, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu participated in the celebrations at his native village of Choutupalem.
The Ramatheertham temple in Vizianagaram also saw significant festivities, with the state government making elaborate arrangements. The event featured a grand procession and the participation of local dignitaries including the MLA Aditi Vijayalakshmi Gajapati and Minister Kondapalli Srinivas.
However, the celebrations were marred by a minor clash between TDP and YSRCP leaders at the Ontimitta Kodandaramaswamy temple in Kadapa, reportedly stemming from a dispute during the flag-hoisting ceremony.
The Vemulawada Rajanna temple in Sirisilla also hosted a magnificent Sri Rama Kalyana Mahotsavam, expecting over 50,000 devotees. Other notable celebrations took place in Warangal, Kakinada (Annavaram), and Visakhapatnam, each marked by large crowds and elaborate decorations. In Eluru, a Rama Kalyana Mahotsavam was organized by the local Sahitya Mandali. Across the Telugu states, the day was filled with religious fervor, marked by special pujas, processions, and the joyous celebration of the birth of Lord Rama.
