**Hyderabad, India –** Ram Charan’s highly anticipated Telugu film, tentatively titled “RC 16” and now officially named “Peddi,” has finally revealed its release date. A one-minute glimpse, “Peddi First Shot,” released on Ram Navami, showcased Ram Charan in a rugged, rustic avatar, sparking comparisons to Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa Raj” character, though fans quickly pointed to his similar role in 2018’s “Rangasthalam.” The glimpse, released in all South Indian languages and Hindi, announced a theatrical release on **March 27, 2026**.
The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, features Ram Charan as a charismatic, rebellious character who declares his intention to live life to the fullest. The glimpse provides a glimpse of high-octane cricket action alongside the intense drama.
“Peddi” boasts a star-studded cast including Janhvi Kapoor (in her second Telugu film), Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma (making his Tollywood debut), and Jagapathi Babu. The film, produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, boasts a strong technical crew including AR Rahman (music) and R Rathnavelu (cinematography). Filming began last year in Hyderabad and is currently ongoing.
The announcement comes on the heels of Ram Charan’s 40th birthday, where two posters were released showcasing his intense, beedi-smoking look. This new project follows the success of “RRR” (2022) and the less successful “Acharya” and “Game Changer” (both 2022 and 2025). Charan’s fans eagerly await this film, particularly given his upcoming collaboration with director Sukumar, following the success of their previous film, “Rangasthalam.”
