**Thiruvananthapuram, April 6, 2025** – Kerala’s General Education Minister, V. Sivankutty, announced the launch of an online transfer system for government higher secondary school teachers, commencing Monday. The initiative, supported by KITE, aims to streamline the process, requiring teachers to update their profiles and principals to verify data and report vacancies on the higher education transfer portal. The government aims to complete transfers by June 1st. Strict action will be taken against those submitting inaccurate information.

The Minister also announced remedial classes for eighth-grade students who scored below 30% in any subject. These classes, running from April 8th to 24th (9:30 AM to 12:30 PM daily), will focus on weaker areas. Analysis of 2,541 schools’ eighth-grade results revealed Wayanad district had the highest percentage of students receiving ‘E’ grades (6.3%), while Kollam had the lowest (4.2%). Hindi showed the highest number of ‘E’ grades (42,910), while English had the fewest (24,191). District-level monitoring systems will ensure participation in the remedial classes.

Finally, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to providing free school uniforms to over 10 lakh students in Classes I to VIII in government and aided schools, with ₹94.5 crore allocated for the scheme in 2023-24.
