**New York, NY** – A 39-year-old man died Saturday morning after falling from the 16th-floor window of a Midtown hotel. Police responded to a call around 6:30 a.m. near West 45th Street and Seventh Avenue, finding the man unresponsive on the roof of an adjacent building. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred at the 45 Times Square Hotel. Witnesses reported hearing yelling from a 15th-floor room before the man fell through a window. One witness, an Italian tourist, recounted hearing a woman repeatedly shouting “come back.” Another German tourist on the 14th floor reported hearing two distinct noises: a loud thud, followed 15 minutes later by crying and a man yelling “ayuda” (help in Spanish).
A red-haired woman has been detained for questioning in connection with the death, but no arrests have been made. The NYPD is investigating whether the fall was accidental or intentional. The investigation is ongoing.
