Sun Apr 06 14:18:23 UTC 2025: ## Kakinada and NTR Districts Triumph at Andhra Pradesh State Wrestling Championship

**RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM, April 6, 2025** – Kakinada and NTR districts emerged victorious at the 8th Andhra Pradesh State Wrestling Championship, held in Rajamahendravaram on Sunday. Over 400 wrestlers competed in the U-15 and U-20 categories. NTR district secured the overall championship title in the U-20 category, while Kakinada district won the U-15 overall title. Alluri Sitharama Raju district and Kakinada district secured second place in the U-20 and U-15 categories, respectively.

Several individual gold medalists were also recognized in the U-15 boys and girls freestyle categories. These winners will represent Andhra Pradesh at the National Wrestling Championship in Kota, Rajasthan, starting April 23rd. State Wrestling Federation president M.V. Manikyala Rao encouraged the winners to focus on the national competition.

The Rotary Club of Rajamahendravaram Icons, organizers of the event, announced plans to establish a wrestling academy in Rajamahendravaram, with support from former wrestler Madireddi Kesava Rao.
