**Imphal, April 6, 2025** – Four militants, including a juvenile, were arrested in Manipur over the weekend, police announced Sunday. The arrests, made in Bishnupur and Kakching districts, involved members of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG), KCP (MC Progressive), and the United People’s Party of Kangleipak (UPPK).
One PWG member was apprehended in Bishnupur’s Moirang Okshongbung on Saturday, along with a juvenile KCP (MC Progressive) member from Nambol Bazar in the same district. Another PWG cadre was arrested in Ningthoukhong, Bishnupur. A UPPK member was detained during a search operation in Hiyanglam, Kakching district.
In a separate operation in Jiribam district, security forces recovered several firearms. The details regarding the types and quantities of firearms recovered were not immediately released. The arrests are part of an ongoing effort to quell militant activity in the state.
