**VISAKHAPATNAM, April 5, 2025** – The Angolan Embassy in India marked the 23rd anniversary of Angola’s Peace and National Reconciliation Day with a celebration at Andhra University on Saturday. The event commemorated the end of Angola’s 27-year civil war, which concluded with the signing of the Luena Memorandum of Understanding on April 4, 2002.

Ambassador Clemente Camenha, along with 46 Angolan students studying at the university, attended the ceremony. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to Andhra University for providing educational opportunities to Angolan nationals. The celebration included the singing of national anthems, poetry recitations, musical performances, and a video showcasing Angola’s post-conflict development. The event highlighted the significance of the peace accord in fostering national unity and progress in Angola.
