**Mount Maunganui, New Zealand** – Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali unleashed a scathing attack on the national team following their 3-0 ODI series whitewash against New Zealand. The defeat, coming after a 4-1 T20I series loss, prompted Ali to declare the day a “black day” for Pakistan cricket.

Ali contrasted the current team’s performance with Pakistan’s past dominance in New Zealand, citing the era of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. He criticized the team’s performance, particularly highlighting what he viewed as poor captaincy by Mohammad Rizwan and a lack of fight from the players. Ali specifically targeted Rizwan’s tactical decisions, describing them as “school cricket” and questioning his ability to utilize his bowlers effectively.
