**Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh –** A 43-year-old contract worker, Ch Appalanaidu, died late Saturday night after allegedly inhaling poisonous gas at the Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City (JNPC) in Anakapalli district. Appalanaidu, one of three contract workers at the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP), collapsed during his night shift while reportedly testing chemical samples.
Police are investigating the incident, suspecting gas inhalation as the cause of death. Ganisetti Satyanarayana of the CITU union has demanded ₹1 crore in compensation for Appalanaidu’s family. No official complaint has yet been filed with the Parawada police. The incident occurred at the JNPC under Parawada police station limits.
