Sat Apr 05 13:43:59 UTC 2025: ## Video Exposes Israeli Claims in Killing of 15 Palestinian Medics

**GAZA CITY** – A video recovered from the mobile phone of a slain Palestinian medic has contradicted Israeli claims surrounding the killing of 15 medical personnel in Gaza last month. The footage, released by the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS), shows the medics, clearly identifiable in marked ambulances and wearing reflective uniforms, being fired upon by Israeli forces on March 23rd in Rafah.

The video, apparently filmed from inside one of the vehicles, depicts the ambulances stopping before intense gunfire erupts. The audio captures the medics’ final moments, including pleas for forgiveness and the recitation of the Islamic declaration of faith. The Israeli military’s claim that they only fired on “terrorists” in “suspicious vehicles” is directly challenged by the video’s clear depiction of the marked ambulances.

Among the victims were eight PRCS workers, six members of the Palestinian Civil Defence, and a UNRWA employee. Their bodies were found in what the UN described as a mass grave, some with bound hands and feet, suggesting execution. An Israeli military official stated that the bodies were covered to prevent damage before retrieval. However, Mahmoud Bassal, a spokesperson for Gaza’s civil defense, reported evidence of close-range execution, including decapitation.

The PRCS stated the convoy responded to emergency calls from civilians trapped after an Israeli bombardment. International condemnation has followed, with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, expressing concerns about potential war crimes. The UN also reported that over 408 aid workers have been killed in Gaza since October 7th, 2023.

Palestinian groups, including Hamas, have demanded an international investigation and accountability for what they describe as a “brutal and unprecedented” execution. The video evidence, they argue, irrefutably refutes the Israeli military’s narrative. The Israeli military has stated it is investigating the incident. The international community is demanding a thorough and independent investigation into the killings.
