**NEW DELHI –** The Delhi BJP has accused former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of extravagant spending on the maintenance of his official bungalow, citing RTI documents that reveal nearly ₹30 crore spent between 2015 and 2022. Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva called Kejriwal a “Master of Corruption” and demanded a government inquiry into the expenditure, which averages roughly ₹1 lakh per day.
Sachdeva highlighted that the ₹29.56 crore covered general repairs, sewage, electricity, and structural work at the bungalow on Flag Staff Road. He questioned how such a high annual maintenance cost of ₹3.69 crore could be justified, suggesting potential corruption. He pointed out that a new bungalow of similar size could be built for a fraction of that cost.
The information was obtained through an RTI application filed by a Maharashtra resident. The Delhi government’s response, received on December 29th, 2023, detailed the expenditures, which Sachdeva claims expose Kejriwal’s lavish lifestyle and corruption within the government.
Sachdeva also criticized former Education Minister Manish Sisodia, currently under CBI investigation for a liquor scam, and promised further investigations into alleged corruption within the education sector and collusion with private schools. He challenged Kejriwal to publicly address these allegations.
