**Lexington, KY –** Kentucky men’s basketball head coach John Calipari has added another key piece to his roster for the upcoming season. Jaland Lowe, a 6-foot-3 guard from the University of Pittsburgh, has committed to the Wildcats, according to 247Sports.
Lowe, a sophomore, earned All-ACC Third Team honors this past season after averaging 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. While his three-point percentage dipped in his sophomore year, his overall scoring and playmaking ability impressed. He is known for his ball-handling skills, creativity, and ability to generate turnovers.
“Lowe’s greatest strengths are his ball-handling and his creativity,” noted George Michalowski of Pittsburgh Sports Now. “He’s got a deep bag of tricks with the ball in his hands.”
Lowe, who has two years of eligibility remaining and is exploring the NBA Draft, joins Tulane guard Kam Williams as Kentucky’s latest transfer additions. He will likely be a key contributor for the Wildcats, bringing significant experience and offensive capabilities to the team. While he carried a heavy offensive load at Pitt, Kentucky’s system may allow him to excel in a different role. His career 87.7% free throw shooting also suggests potential for improvement in his three-point shot.
