Fri Apr 04 19:18:51 UTC 2025: ## ISRO’s POEM-4 Successfully Re-enters Atmosphere

**Bengaluru, April 5, 2025** – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced the successful and controlled re-entry of the PSLV Orbital Experimental Module-4 (POEM-4) into the Earth’s atmosphere. The upper stage of the PSLV-C60 rocket, launched on December 30, 2024, impacted the Indian Ocean at 8:03 am IST on April 4th.

POEM-4, carrying 24 payloads from ISRO and international partners, was initially placed in a 350 km orbit. After completing its mission, ISRO initiated a controlled de-orbiting process to minimize the risk of space debris. The agency closely monitored the re-entry using its own radar facilities and in collaboration with the United States Space Command.

ISRO highlighted this event as a significant achievement in its commitment to responsible space operations and the reduction of space debris. The successful re-entry reinforces ISRO’s dedication to the long-term sustainability of the space environment and its Debris Free Space Mission (DFSM).
