**Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh – April 5, 2025** – Eleven members of the banned CPI (Maoist) party’s Galikonda Area Committee surrendered to authorities in Alluri Sitharama Raju district on Saturday. The surrendered individuals, facing a combined 39 criminal charges, cited disillusionment with the Maoist ideology and attraction to government development programs as their reasons for surrendering.

Superintendent of Police Amit Bardar stated that the militia members, including Vanthala Bhaskar Rao, Tambeli Subba Rao, and Korra Krishna, among others, all hailed from the G.K. Veedhi area. He attributed their decision to the state government’s initiatives and the district police’s community policing efforts.

SP Bardar urged remaining Maoists to abandon violence and embrace the government’s welfare schemes, assuring that those who surrender will receive full government support and benefits.
