**Chandigarh, April 5** – Haryana is experiencing a significant temperature rise, with a heatwave predicted to begin on April 7th, according to the Meteorological Department. Thursday saw a 2.1°C increase in the state’s maximum temperature, reaching 3.6°C above normal. Hisar recorded the highest temperature at 39.2°C.
The weather forecast predicts cloudy skies and windy conditions on Friday, followed by clear skies until April 9th. However, the rising temperatures have prompted a heatwave warning, urging residents to take precautions.
Thursday’s maximum temperatures across the state varied, with Hisar leading at 39.2°C, followed by Sirsa (38°C), and other districts ranging from 35.8°C (Chandigarh) to 37.9°C (Faridabad and Charkhi Dadri). Minimum temperatures also showed an increase in most districts, except for minor decreases in Sonipat and Jind. The most significant increase in minimum temperature was observed in Rohtak, with a rise of 2.8°C. The Met Department advises citizens to stay hydrated and take necessary measures to protect themselves from the intense heat.
