**COIMBATORE, April 3, 2025** – A special court in Coimbatore has sentenced a 35-year-old man, Sathish Kumar, to 30 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2021. The assault occurred while the girl was living with her grandmother. Following the incident, the girl, who had dropped out of school after Class VII, filed a complaint with the All Women Police Station, Perur.

Kumar was arrested and charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The trial concluded on April 1st, resulting in Kumar’s conviction on three counts and a subsequent sentence of 30 years imprisonment, along with a fine of ₹12,000.
