Thu Apr 03 15:17:17 UTC 2025: ## Congress Demands Action Against Puducherry Police Inspector
**Puducherry, April 3, 2025** – A Congress delegation, led by former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, submitted a memorandum to Puducherry’s Director General of Police (DGP) Shalini Singh on Thursday. The memorandum demands action against Ariankuppam Inspector Kalaiselvan for allegedly assaulting Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Association president and Congress worker Amudharasan.
Mr. Narayanasamy stated that the assault occurred when Mr. Amudharasan visited the police station to inquire about a case. He denied claims by Speaker R. Selvam that Mr. Amudharasan was attempting to rescue three individuals arrested for assaulting tourists, one of whom is allegedly involved in a POCSO case. Mr. Narayanasamy asserted that the Congress party’s concern lies solely with the alleged assault on Mr. Amudharasan, and not with the three arrested individuals. He criticized the Speaker for what he termed “political commentary” and urged him to focus on his official responsibilities.
