Thu Apr 03 15:00:00 UTC 2025: ## RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav Admitted to AIIMS Delhi
**NEW DELHI** – Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on Wednesday for medical treatment. The 76-year-old leader was admitted to the Cardio Critical Care Unit of the Cardio-Neuro Center under the supervision of Professor Dr. Rakesh Yadav. A team of doctors is monitoring his condition.
Yadav was initially admitted to a Patna hospital before being transferred to AIIMS around 9:35 PM. His son and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav told reporters in Patna that the elder Yadav had developed sores on his back and hand, potentially requiring surgery in Delhi. Tejashwi explained that a sudden drop in his father’s blood pressure led to their visit to Paras Hospital in Patna before the transfer to Delhi. He also stated that his mother, Rabri Devi, accompanied them.
Doctors in Patna initially treated Yadav in an emergency ward before determining that transfer to Delhi was necessary. According to Dr. Prakash Sinha, who led Yadav’s medical team in Patna, the former Chief Minister’s condition improved sufficiently to allow for transfer.
Lalu Prasad Yadav, convicted in the fodder scam cases, has been out on bail for several years due to health reasons.
