Tue Apr 01 19:33:13 UTC 2025: ## Chennai Airport to Offer Easier Free Wifi Access for International Passengers
**Chennai, April 2, 2025** – International air passengers arriving at Chennai airport will soon experience a significant improvement in accessing free Wi-Fi. For years, many have been unable to connect due to difficulties receiving the required one-time password (OTP) for verification. This issue, frequently highlighted by passengers on social media platforms like X, has prompted the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to implement a solution.
To address the problem, AAI will install kiosks in the international arrival hall within the next five months. These kiosks will allow passengers to scan their passports and boarding passes to receive a paper-based OTP, eliminating the need for a functioning international mobile number. The AAI is currently in discussions with telecom operators to finalize the setup.
The move has been welcomed by frequent travelers like Vasanthi Kannan, who highlighted the importance of readily available Wi-Fi for international arrivals needing to arrange transportation or contact family. This upgrade addresses concerns previously voiced online, with passengers previously expressing frustration over the lack of accessible free Wi-Fi compared to other international airports. The new system is expected to significantly improve the arrival experience for international passengers at Chennai airport.
