Vijayawada, April 2, 2025 – The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has established a state-level committee to determine the government’s per-child expenditure for students enrolled in private schools under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. The committee, detailed in G.O. No. 103, includes government officials, representatives from private school management associations (including APPUSMA, APPSA, ISMA, and UPEIF), and NGOs like Indus Action and Pratham Education Foundation. UNICEF is also represented.

The committee, chaired by the Principal Secretary/Special Chief Secretary of School Education, will meet within three months to assess the per-child expenditure for the 2025-26 academic year, with subsequent annual reviews in December. Government reimbursement, totaling 100% of the determined cost, will be disbursed directly to the schools via RTGS/NEFT in two installments: 50% in September and the remaining 50% in January.
