Tue Apr 01 18:19:53 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh GST Collections Hit Record High in March 2025
**Vijayawada, April 2, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh (AP) saw its highest-ever Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections in March 2025, totaling ₹3,116 crore, a significant 8.35% increase compared to March 2024. This marks the second-highest monthly collection for the year and the highest in the last 11 months, according to Chief Commissioner of Tax Babu A.
The state’s total GST gross collections for the financial year 2024-25 reached ₹44,825 crore, a modest 1.19% increase from the previous year’s ₹44,298 crore. While March’s figures are encouraging, the overall annual growth is relatively low, attributed primarily to the state’s economy’s heavy reliance on the GST-exempt primary sector.
Cumulative net GST collections from April 2024 to March 2025 showed a 5.09% increase, reaching ₹33,660 crore compared to ₹32,030 crore in the previous financial year. The Chief Commissioner noted that March 2025 also marked the third-highest revenue-generating month since the inception of the APGST regime in 2017.
The impact of Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) collections on the state’s net revenue was also highlighted. The IGST mechanism, as defined in the GST Act, involves transferring IGST paid by taxpayers within the state to other states, potentially affecting AP’s overall revenue share depending on taxpayer credit adjustments.
