**New Delhi, April 2, 2025** – Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted a surprise midnight inspection of road repair work on the Outer Ring Road, reaffirming the government’s commitment to pothole-free roads before the monsoon season. The inspection focused on a 4-km stretch between Madhuban Chowk and Mukarba Chowk.
The ₹12.85 crore project, undertaken by the Public Works Department Northern Zone, involves strengthening both sides of the Outer Ring Road alongside the elevated corridor. Modern techniques, including cold milling and hot recycling with two-layer reinforcement, are being used to ensure durability. Existing road layers are being removed and replaced to maintain proper leveling. Improved night visibility is being achieved through the installation of thermoplastic paint, glow studs, and median markers. A 50 mm thick stone matrix asphalt layer is being laid near the elevated flyover.
CM Gupta emphasized the government’s dedication to public convenience and urged officials to avoid any negligence in the project’s execution. The inspection aimed to ensure high-quality work and timely completion.
