**Patna, April 2, 2025** – Jharkhand’s Leader of the Opposition, Babulal Marandi, has demanded a police investigation and blacklisting of two liquor placement agencies accused of financial irregularities. In a letter to Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari, Mr. Marandi alleges that Marshan Innovative Security PVT. Ltd. and Vision Hospitality Service & Consultants PVT. Ltd. submitted fake bank guarantees to secure contracts with the Jharkhand State Beverages Corporation Limited (JSBCL).
The agencies, responsible for supplying manpower to liquor shops across the state, allegedly failed to deposit over ₹25 crore in sales revenue. Mr. Marandi presented evidence, including letters from Punjab & Sind Bank and Bandhan Bank, confirming the fraudulent bank guarantees. These letters, dating back to January and March 2024, were reportedly ignored by JSBCL officials.
Mr. Marandi accuses JSBCL officials of complicity, demanding their suspension and an immediate investigation into the alleged ₹25 crore revenue loss. He called the incident a major economic crime and urged the Chief Secretary to take swift action to prevent further financial irregularities. The BJP leader’s letter marks a significant escalation in scrutiny of the state’s liquor distribution system.
