**Ramanathapuram, April 1, 2025** – A mother and two men have been arrested in Ramanathapuram district for sexually harassing a 16-year-old girl. The arrests were made under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following a complaint lodged by the victim.
Police investigations revealed that the girl’s 30-year-old mother was involved in an illicit relationship with a 21-year-old man. With the mother’s consent, the 21-year-old sexually assaulted the victim for over two years. The victim also suffered sexual harassment from the 19-year-old son of her tuition teacher.
The victim reported the incidents to her school teacher, who then alerted Child Line. A subsequent investigation led to the filing of a POCSO case and the arrests of the mother, the 21-year-old man, and the 19-year-old man. The case highlights the ongoing issue of child sexual abuse and the importance of reporting such crimes.
