Tue Apr 01 04:35:54 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Id Celebration Marred by Tragedy: Toddler Killed in Hit-and-Run
**New Delhi, April 1, 2025** – A two-year-old girl died on Sunday evening after being struck and killed by a car in Paharganj, central Delhi, turning what should have been a joyous Id celebration into a heartbreaking tragedy. Police have arrested the driver, the teenage son of the car’s owner, Pankaj Agarwal, and his father.
The incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. on March 30th and was captured on CCTV footage. The footage shows the car, owned by Mr. Agarwal, slowly approaching before briefly stopping. It then moved forward, running over the child. Residents rushed the girl to a hospital, but she was pronounced dead.
Both the driver and the car owner have been arrested and charged under sections 281 (rash and negligent driving) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Nabi Karim police station. The investigation is ongoing.
