**Meerut, India** – The already shocking Meerut murder case of Saurabh Rajput has taken another disturbing turn with the emergence of an AI-generated video allegedly depicting the victim’s wife, Muskan Rastogi, and a police officer in a compromising situation. The video, circulated on social media, has sparked outrage and a police investigation.
Police have confirmed the video’s AI origin and stated it was uploaded with malicious intent to damage the reputation of Ramakant Pachauri, the in-charge of Brahmpuri police station. An FIR has been filed under Section 67 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act against the Instagram user who posted the video, “Priyanshu.” Authorities are working to identify and apprehend those responsible for creating and disseminating the video.
This is not the only instance of such content surfacing online. Similar objectionable videos allegedly featuring Rastogi and co-accused Sahil Shukla, including one purportedly showing their involvement in the crime, have also been discovered. The gruesome details of the murder, including the alleged disposal of Rajput’s body in a blue drum, have led to a flood of insensitive online content, drawing criticism from many.
Meanwhile, Rastogi and Shukla, who were sent to jail on March 19th, have requested to be housed together and have been assigned a government lawyer, Rekha Jain, after their families disowned them. They have also expressed a desire for expedited bail. The police investigation is nearing completion, with forensic reports expected to strengthen the case against the accused. The ongoing investigation into the AI-generated video, along with the main murder case, continues to generate significant public interest and controversy.
