**TIRUPATTUR, April 1, 2025** – The Railway Protection Force (RPF) made a significant drug bust on Tuesday at Jolarpet railway station in Tirupattur, seizing 25 kilograms of ganja. The contraband was discovered during routine security checks of the Tata Nagar (Jharkhand) – Ernakulam Express train, which had stopped at the station en route to Chennai.
RPF personnel found five abandoned bags in a general compartment containing 13 packets of ganja. Preliminary investigations suggest a four-person gang fled the train after noticing the RPF’s presence. The Jolarpet RPF has registered a case and is using CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
