**CHAPEL HILL, NC –** North Carolina Tar Heels starting point guard Elliot Cadeau announced Tuesday that he will be entering the NCAA transfer portal. The sophomore, a highly touted five-star recruit, started 68 of 69 games over the past two seasons for the Tar Heels. His departure comes just a week after North Carolina’s first-round exit from the NCAA Tournament, a 71-64 loss to Ole Miss.
Cadeau, who reclassified to join UNC a year early, significantly improved his game in his sophomore season. He averaged 9.4 points, 6.2 assists (a top 20 national ranking), and 1.1 steals per game, while also dramatically improving his three-point shooting percentage to nearly 34%.
