Tue Apr 01 12:09:30 UTC 2025: ## Coimbatore Man Arrested for Roommate’s Murder
**COIMBATORE, April 1, 2025** – A special team from the Coimbatore City Police arrested a 35-year-old man, J. Shiyaz, in Ernakulam district, Kerala, for the murder of his roommate, R. Arumugam. The incident occurred last week in Coimbatore.
Shiyaz and Arumugam, both 35, were roommates and co-workers at a hardware store. A dispute arose on March 25th after Shiyaz played loud music late at night. The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which Shiyaz allegedly assaulted Arumugam with his hands and a liquor bottle.
Arumugam was admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital with his injuries but succumbed to them on March 26th. Shiyaz fled the scene but was apprehended Tuesday at his hideout in Kerala. He is currently in police custody.
