**Mumbai, March 31, 2025** – Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav achieved a significant milestone on Monday, becoming only the fifth Indian to surpass 8,000 runs in T20 cricket. The achievement came during the IPL 2025 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai.
Yadav reached the landmark in his 312th T20 innings, boasting an impressive average of 34 and a strike rate of 152. He joins an elite group of Indian batsmen, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Suresh Raina, who have all previously achieved this feat. Kohli leads the pack with 12,976 runs, followed by Rohit Sharma with 11,838.
Yadav’s success extends to the international stage, where he has amassed 2,598 runs in T20 Internationals at an average of 38, including four centuries – the second-most by any Indian player.
