Mon Mar 31 20:08:14 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Police and NCB Bust Major Drug Ring, Seize ₹27.4 Crore Worth of Narcotics

**New Delhi, April 1, 2025** – In a joint operation, Delhi Police’s Special Cell and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have dismantled a major drug trafficking network in the Delhi-NCR region, arresting five individuals and seizing a significant quantity of narcotics valued at ₹27.4 crore.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 5 kg of crystal methamphetamine (worth ₹10.2 crore), 4.1 kg of Afghan heroin, 5.7 kg of MDMA, and additional quantities of heroin and cocaine following searches in West Delhi and Greater Noida. Four of the arrested individuals are foreign nationals from an “influential family” in Nigeria. The drugs were allegedly sourced from an African kitchen in Tilak Nagar.

Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the operation on X, highlighting the Modi government’s commitment to a “zero tolerance” policy on drugs.

In a separate operation under the “Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan,” Delhi Police’s Crime Branch apprehended two individuals, Pooja Devi and Rohit, for possessing 548 g of heroin worth over ₹1.5 crore.

These operations represent a significant blow to drug trafficking in the region, underscoring ongoing efforts to combat the narcotics trade.
